Here are some troubleshooting tips if you've seen the "You do not have enough DAO tokens to vote on this proposal" error message on Upstream.

  1. Confirm your current wallet has governance tokens.

To take any action in a collective you must hold some governance tokens issued by the Collective. Ensure the wallet you connect with holds your token or try switching to the correct wallet.

  2. Contribute to the Collective to be issued tokens.

If an NFT token doesn't gate your Collective, then you'll need to contribute to the Collective in order to receive governance tokens. Remember, the number of tokens you're issued correlates directly to your contributions.

The Upstream default is 1 ETH = 1000 tokens. Confirm with your group's admin or members about the current exchange rate on the Collective. If contributions are disabled, members must create a proposal to enable contributions.

[Tip: Ensure your wallet has enough ETH to account for gas charges to complete the transaction].

    NFT Gated Collectives -
If your Collective is gated by an NFT then you'll need to purchase or own one of the NFTs in order to participate in the Collective on Upstream.
